About This Role
The Director, Commercial Transactions role is a key leadership position within the department. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting the strategic direction and priorities for their team, aligning with the expectations of senior executives and government.
They will lead a highly skilled team in delivering both policy development and the implementation of commercial and asset reform initiatives, building strong relationships with stakeholders across and beyond government to achieve successful outcomes.
The Director, Commercial Transactions will provide authoritative advice to senior leaders and government, drawing on their policy expertise and commercial acumen. They will foster a supportive and results-driven environment, guiding their team from concept through to delivery, leveraging commercial processes to develop and implement solutions that deliver real impact for the department and the Victorian community.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement commercial and asset reform initiatives to support the department's strategic objectives;
* Lead a highly skilled team to deliver policy development and project implementation;
* Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across and beyond government;
* Provide authoritative advice to senior leaders and government on commercial and policy matters;
* Foster a supportive and results-driven environment, driving high performing teams and managing people effectively.
Requirements
* Exceptional analytic abilities in economics, finance, commercial and related fields;
* Experience in managing competing priorities under tight deadlines;
* Proven track record taking policy development through to implementation;
* Strong negotiation, influencing and communication skills;
* Demonstrated leadership skills and experience in driving high performing teams;
* Post-graduate qualifications in public policy, public administration, commerce or law would be advantageous.
