About us

Court Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission. Collectively, Victoria's Supreme, County, Magistrates', Children's, and Coroners courts, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), the Judicial College of Victoria, the Judicial Commission of Victoria, and Court Services Victoria (CSV) are referred to as the ‘Courts Group'.

The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) is the first level of the Victorian court system and is a jurisdiction within the Court Services Victoria. It has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state. The Court determines in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 locations, equating to approximately 90 percent of all cases that come before Victorian courts each year. The Court aims to be an innovative, accessible, and responsive court that provides quality services to the Victorian community.


About the role

Are you passionate about supporting individuals with complex needs through the justice system?
Join our dedicated Court Support Services team and make a meaningful impact in the lives of clients navigating the ARC List and CISP programs.

As an Advanced Case Manager, you will provide client-centred, strengths-based, and solution-focused support to individuals with complex psycho-social needs, particularly those with mental health and disability support requirements. You will play a vital role in assessment, referral, and treatment planning, while also mentoring other case managers and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities:

• Deliver advanced case management to clients with complex needs.

• Develop person-centred support plans through assessment and engagement.

• Identify risks and implement harm minimisation strategies.

• Prepare and present court reports and provide expert advice to the judiciary.

• Mentor and coach case managers to enhance service delivery.

• Build and maintain relationships with legal professionals and service providers.

• Promote access to services by navigating local referral pathways.

• Contribute to practice improvements and professional development.

About you

• Passionate about supporting people experiencing a range of complex psycho-social challenges, including mental health and disability-related needs.

• Skilled in engaging effectively with clients, building trust, and conducting thorough risk assessments to inform safe and responsive support plans.

• Equipped with relevant tertiary qualifications in social work, psychology, social sciences, or a related field (highly desirable).

• Experienced in working within the family violence service system, with a strong understanding of trauma-informed and culturally safe practices.
