The Role
We are looking for a trade qualified Trades Specialist Electrician with a strong involvement in electrical and instrumentation diagnostics, general maintenance and repairs to join us in the Electrical Maintenance department at GFM.
Reporting to the Electrical Mine Monitor Supervisor, you will have the ability to make decisions, work to meet deadlines and have exceptional communication skills.Rosters available for this role 7‐7 Days only.
Responsibilities
* Carry out Electrical and instrumentation Inspections, servicing and maintenance on fixed plant equipment as required by the business
* Fault finding and trouble‐shooting electrical and instrumentation issues and breakdowns
* Provide technical support for process control systems, including the configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of SCADA platforms and PLC logic.
* Diagnose faults, analyse control performance, optimise PLC programs, and maintain reliable communication between field devices and control systems.
* Support system upgrades, improve control logic, maintain documentation, and ensure compliance with site standards and safety requirements.
* HV and LV motors, variable speed drives, soft starters, PLC and conveyor systems ABB systems
* Testing of fixed plant equipment before, during and after repairs, maintenance and rebuild.
Qualifications
* Trade Qualified Electrician with Instrumentation and control experience
* Cert III or Cert IV in Instrumentation and Control would be an advantage but not essential.
* Proven track record of electrical repairs and maintenance
* Mechanical aptitude and the ability to read parts diagrams and schematics
* Understanding of circuit diagrams and wiring
* Installation of electrics and excellent overall electrical skills
* Hard working, reliable and able to work unsupervised
* Strong focus on completing the job safely and compliantly
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Excellent troubleshooting & problem‐solving skills
* Flexible approach and adaptable to change with a high attention to detail
* Good time management skills and able to work well under pressure
