**About the role**

This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the City Safe staff and operation of the City Safe control room. This position will drive the development of security risk assessments and conduct security reviews, performance audits, development of standards, policies, procedures and guidelines, security projects and the promotion of a continuous improvement philosophy in the integration of security strategies into daily activities and plans. The position is also accountable for the management, ongoing maintenance and periodic testing and auditing of physical and electronic security (keys, intrusion detection, electronic access control and CCTV systems) and all new installations and project works. On a daily basis you will
- Manage the operation of the City Safe Control Room and monitoring staff.
- Maintain security system capabilities and comprehensive system documentation across all facilities in accordance with manufacturer's specifications and or Australian Standards.
- Develop and maintain a security risk management framework (based on Australian Standards Handbook 167:2006).
- Maintain best practice in the development and implementation of security projects.
- Develop systems and Corporate plans, policies, procedures, guidelines and standards as required
- Development of key partnerships within the emergency management industry to ensure the City's systems are maintained to the highest industry standards.
- Develop a program to manage and evaluate performance of security assets and systems to ensure best practice facilities security through systematic servicing, maintenance and replacement and maintenance of associated documentation for all City facilities.
- Maintain best practice in the development of projects including project control, human resources and communications management.
- Manage the development of submissions for the approval of funding for major security projects.
- Manage projects and DA submissions occurring or planned within or external to Council Groups, Divisions and Corporate areas which have a security implication.
- Provide Security Risk Assessments, Terrorism Risk Assessments and Hostile Vehicle Dynamics Assessments to support Council's public domain development and public event planning.
- Manage the development of standards and guidelines for the design, purchase, installation, use and maintenance of physical protective measures.

**About You**
- Demonstrated experience in the development of a security risk assessments and the conduct of security reviews, performance audits, development of standards, policies, procedures and guidelines and the relevant licence to allow same.
- Demonstrated experience in the management of security projects and the promotion of a continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated experience in CCTV and Control Room Operations.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience of relevant legislation including the Privacy act, Evidence act, Workplace Surveillance act and Government Policies relating to CCTV and surveillance.

It would be preferred but not essential for applicants to have the following qualifications:

- Minimum 5 years management experience in a related field.
- Working knowledge of the Security Industry Act and Regulations.
- Working Knowledge of Legislation and legal implications pertaining to key responsibilities.
- Demonstrated ability to use computer packages i.e. Microsoft Word, Power BI and internal Databases.
- Current NSW drivers licence.
- Current NSW Security Licence relevant to the role (periodic checks will be conducted).

It would be preferred but not essential for applicants to have the following Skillset.
- Excellent communication and strong, demonstrable leadership skills, with the ability to handle high-demand situations with management and key stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of electronic security systems.
- Demonstrated commitment to Customer Service.
- Demonstrated ability to build high performance teams.

We are offering an attractive total remuneration from $108,945 to $119,971+ 10.5% Superannuation
