Overview
Plum Grove Logistics is a privately owned grain handling company operating a growing supply chain network primarily in the Geraldton port zone in Western Australia. Our new Narngulu facility represents a significant investment in regional grain handling infrastructure, serving the agricultural communities of the Midwest and supporting growers from receival through to export.
Following recent expansion, we are now looking for a skilled manager join us in a pivotal leadership role. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer this newly created position will have real scope in the delivery of safe and efficient daily operations and the development of staff capability. We work with some of the largest, most influential growers in the region and this role will maintain these relationships whilst upholding the highest standards in grain quality.
The Position:
* Manage all receival operations - intake, weighing, grading and segregation - ensuring efficient throughput during peak receival periods and minimising grower wait times.
* Monitor and maintain grain quality and condition in storage, including oversight of hygiene, tarping, fumigation, or other treatments as required.
* Recruit, lead, roster, and develop site team members including seasonal staff during peak periods.
* Drive out turn activities to meet shipping and port operations schedules.
* Champion a strong safety culture and ensure WHS compliance across the site.
* Build great relationships with growers, transport operators, and service contractors.
* Oversee site maintenance, budgets, and compliance reporting.
* Support capital upgrade projects as the site continues to grow.
* Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performance team culture aligned with Plum Grove Logistics values.
Requirements:
* Demonstrated experience in grain handling, bulk commodity receival, or a related agricultural operations environment.
* Proven leadership and people management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team in a dynamic, seasonal environment.
* Sound knowledge of WHS legislation, site safety management, and risk assessment.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with growers, staff, and stakeholders.
* Proficiency with computer systems for data entry, reporting, and communications and commodity tracking software.
* Current and valid driver's licence (C class minimum). Forklift and/or plant operator licences/tickets, desirable.
* Commercial acumen and required resourcefulness to work in small team.
