About the Role
Are you detail-oriented, customer-focused, and thrive in a fast-paced environment? We are seeking a Rating Services Officer to join our Finance team, where you'll play a vital role in maintaining the City's rating database, processing rates, and delivering outstanding service to internal and external stakeholders.
As a Rating Services Officer, you will be responsible for assisting with ratepayer enquiries, maintaining accurate property and ownership records, processing rebates and interim notices, and supporting the timely delivery of rates notices and refunds. You will also work closely with other departments and external agencies to ensure the accuracy of property and address data.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
1. Process and maintain property ownership and rating records in accordance with legislative requirements
2. Respond to ratepayer enquiries and provide high-quality customer service via phone, email and in-person
3. Support the Senior Rating Services Officer with the issue of annual and interim rates notices
4. Process rebates, concessions, and rate refunds
5. Assist in the debt collection process for outstanding rates and charges
6. Liaise with service authorities, Landgate, real estate agents, and other stakeholders to ensure property data accuracy
7. Perform financial processing tasks including receipting and back-office reconciliation
8. Maintain records in line with the City's electronic records management procedures
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
1. Demonstrated experience in an intermediate finance or administrative role
2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
3. Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel
4. High attention to detail and sound time management abilities
5. A customer-first mindset and commitment to confidentiality
