About the Opportunity
As part of the Infrastructure Program, the Civil Drafter provides drafting services that support the delivery of the City of Adelaide's capital works program and contribute to achieving our Strategic Plan outcomes. Working under the guidance of the senior roles within the Technical Design team, alongside Design Drafters and Engineers, the Civil Drafter produces high-quality technical drawings for a range of projects including civil and stormwater infrastructure, landscape architecture and urban design, traffic and transport, roads, drainage, and footpaths.
This role is also responsible for maintaining revisions of project drawings and drafting logs, contributing to the quality control of Council's standard detail suite, and collaborating with designers, engineers, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and professional design documentation.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
* A relevant qualification in civil drafting, certificate, diploma and/or associate degree in civil engineering drafting (design drafting), landscape architecture or related field and/or commensurate demonstrated experience in lieu of formal qualifications.
* High proficiency in AutoCAD and producing accurate design drawings and 2D documentation.
* Knowledge of Australian drafting standards, building construction, practices and techniques.
* Critical thinking skills to assist in problem solving by assessing a situation and identifying potential solutions.
* Demonstrated skills with Microsoft Office
* Manual design and drafting skills, desirable
* 3D modelling skills and knowledge, desirable.
