Electrical Controls Specialist
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our engineering group as a senior electrical controls specialist. You will be responsible for the design, documentation, testing, and commissioning of materials handling automation hardware and PLC software.
You will play a leading role in deploying electrical control systems and work closely with other engineers to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and develop electrical control systems for materials handling automation hardware and PLC software.
* Document and test electrical control systems to ensure they meet safety and functional requirements.
* Commission electrical control systems at customer sites across Australia and occasionally overseas.
* Manage installation crews and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
* Work collaboratively with other engineers to deliver projects that meet customer needs.
Requirements
* Degree qualified in an engineering or scientific discipline.
* 7+ years of experience in electrical design and installation.
* Sound knowledge of AS3000 & AS4024.1 requirements.
* Experience in machine control, safety, and functional safety principles.
* Knowledge of materials handling system controls.
* Experience in writing technical documentation.
* Knowledge of configuration, programming, and commissioning of PLCs (Siemens S7 preferred), variable speed drives, barcode scanners, and safety devices.
