About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Child Safety and Referral Specialist to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working in the Child, Youth & Family sector, with a strong background in case management and assessment processes.
You will be responsible for providing phone-based support to professionals and community members, offering information, advice, and support to build their capacity to work with families experiencing difficulties.
Your Key Responsibilities:
* Answer incoming calls and triage community queries ranging from simple inquiries to complex scenarios.
* Provide expert advice and support to professionals and community members.
* Work with sensitive and potentially confronting information regarding child safety and wellbeing.
* Complete initial intakes for individuals and families contacting the service.
* Access professional advice from co-located and external partners where necessary.
Requirements for Success:
* A Degree or Diploma in Social Welfare/Social Science/Youth Work.
* Demonstrated experience and understanding of working with vulnerable people and issues impacting them.
* Experience working with matrix management systems and CRM software.
* Maintain self-care and build resilience for dealing with trauma.
* Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
* A positive and person-centred approach.
* Current knowledge of relevant policy and legislation.
* Advanced communication skills both verbal and written.
