About the Role
The Principal Solicitor will drive the strategic direction of our legal and non-legal teams providing advice and casework services across a diverse range of funded programs.
Key Responsibilities Include:
* Leading complex, high-impact casework and strategic litigation
* Providing legal supervision and mentoring to staff solicitors, social workers and non-legal staff and volunteers
* Identifying, evaluating, and pursuing opportunities for growth aligned with our strategic goals
* Building and maintaining a positive, respectful, and high-performing team culture
Essential Skills and Qualifications
* High level of written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
* Case management experience, including solving complex legal problems and providing sound guidance on ethical issues
* Previous supervision, management and leadership experience
* Eligibility to hold an unrestricted Practicing Certificate
