As a Cook Your Responsibilities Will Include
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene levels of food preparation area and kitchen equipment
Meal and food preparation for patients as per recipe guide
Maintain stock for food supplies
Maintain regular daily temperatures of refrigerators and freezers as per food safety standards
Implement Food Safety Program
Sound knowledge dietary nutrition requirements
Demonstrated understanding of accreditation standards, WH&S management and function coordinating
Deliver excellent customer service to patients and staff
Ability to work independently as well as within a team
Liaise with management
Located on Malvern Road in Prahran, The Victoria Clinic is a 115 patient-bed state of the art, purpose built private psychiatric facility that specialises in the provision of high-quality inpatient and outpatient mental health services. All treatments offered are aimed at helping people improve their psychological and emotional well-being in a safe and supportive environment. Individuals are exposed to a variety of therapeutic, recreational and occupational activities as a means of restoring health. The Victoria Clinic is close to public transport, has free onsite parking and is close to Chapel Street restaurants and shopping.
Selection Criteria
Minimum Certificate III in Commercial Cooking or equivalent, Certificate IV preferable
Minimum certificate level qualifications in management
Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
Certificate in Safe Food Handling
Good working knowledge and understanding of HACCP regulations
Good communication and time management skills
Pride in personal appearance and hygiene
Available for shifts over a 7-day (morning/afternoon) roster including weekend work
Previous experience as a cook in a busy restaurant, club, hospital or hotel food service environment preferred
Strong culinary skills and a passion for delivering high-quality meals
Experience in executing all aspects of kitchen operations and food preparation in a hospital or similar catering environment
