Senior Commercial Lawyer (Brisbane)
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Commercial Lawyer to join a well respected, growing legal team in Brisbane. This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented individual to make a significant contribution to our business and work on a diverse range of commercial matters. You will be a key legal advisor, working closely with various internal stakeholders and external parties.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide expert legal advice on a wide range of commercial matters, including:
o Contract drafting, review, and negotiation (e.g., supply agreements, distribution agreements, service agreements, IT agreements, etc.)
o Commercial transactions e.g., mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate structuring)
o Intellectual property (IP matters
o Privacy and data protection
o Competition and consumer law
o General corporate advisory
* Manage complex legal projects and transactions, ensuring timely and effective completion.
* Identify and assess legal risks and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
* Instruct and manage external counsel where necessary.
* Stay up-to-date with relevant legislation and regulatory changes.
* Provide training and guidance to internal stakeholders on legal matters.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of legal policies and procedures.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with internal clients and external stakeholders.
Skills and Experience:
* Minimum of 5+ years post-admission experience (PAE) in commercial law.
* Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
* Strong commercial acumen and understanding of business principles.
