The role of Electrician / Instrument Technician involves maintaining the integrity of electrical systems and equipment in a mining environment. This position requires an individual with experience in planned maintenance and inspection activities, as well as the ability to inspect and test electrical systems to identify hazards and defects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct daily inspections and maintenance activities to ensure all fixed plant and site infrastructure are functioning properly
* Inspect and test electrical systems, equipment and components to identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment and repair
* Assist in the development of maintenance plans to optimize equipment performance and availability
* Provide electrical service for unplanned maintenance and breakdowns, including fault finding and corrective actions
* Ensure compliance with all relevant electrical regulations, industry standards and statutory requirements
* Maintain accurate records and reports of work completed, including completion of work orders and inspection reports
Requirements:
* Dual Electrical Trades and Instrument Technician qualification (highly regarded)
* Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar fixed plant role in a mining environment
* Good working knowledge of relevant electrical legislation and standards
* Strong instrumentation background, including calibration and maintenance of control systems
* Competent understanding of electrical schematics, isolation and permitting systems
* Experience in the operation and maintenance of electrical and electronic equipment and instrumentation
* High level of electrical fault finding skills
* Able to conduct risk assessment and manage risk
* Hold current 'C' Class Western Australian Drivers Licence
