**Economist Role Overview**
The role of an economist involves contributing to the creation and delivery of high-quality analytical insights, research, and modelling to inform government policy decisions and development.
As part of our Economic Strategy and Productivity Group within the Macroeconomy Division, you will collaborate with the Macroeconomic Analysis, Research and Strategy (MARS) and Structural Analysis and Modelling (SAM) teams.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the delivery of high-quality analysis, research and modelling to inform government decisions and policy development
* Create and maintain complex macroeconomic and fiscal models
* Analyse and report data findings
* Conduct research into areas of interest pertaining to the economy, especially key priority areas for Government
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Hold relevant qualifications or experience in economics
* Able to apply economic policies across diverse reform issues
* Clear communication of complex ideas in various formats
* Able to critically analyse and solve problems using evidence-based reasoning
