Description
The Retail Vendor Manager operates at the center of Amazon's flywheel, using data analytics to identify critical selection gaps across multiple categories and recruiting new suppliers to fill these needs. This role combines external supplier acquisition and relationship management with internal cross‑functional collaboration—partnering with category, marketing, supply chain, and advertising teams to create optimal onboarding and launch strategies. The position requires strong relationship management skills, a proven track record of exceeding sales goals, and high ownership. The RVR VM will autonomously drive supplier performance from initial recruitment through launch and ongoing growth, ensuring new vendors successfully integrate into Amazon's retail ecosystem and deliver value to customers.
Key job responsibilities
* Understand market trends across multiple categories to identify the most relevant selection for customers.
* Own new supplier recruitment including end‑to‑end sales cycle from prospecting to account management post launch.
* Own C‑suite level negotiations that enable the onboarding of new suppliers.
* Educate new suppliers on Amazon's tools and systems to enable them to become self‑sufficient in managing their catalog, inventory, and performance.
* Achieve business and financial objectives to drive growth of Amazon's Retail business.
* Identify opportunities to improve the Retail business for suppliers through scalable solutions and manage the roll‑out of these solutions.
* Work closely with category, marketing, supply, product, and other key internal Amazon stakeholders.
Basic Qualifications
* 4+ years of retail, operations, product or program management, or business management/consulting experience with negotiations and delivering results.
* Bachelor's degree.
* Experience applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses, or experience in solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits).
* Experience communicating complex concepts clearly and persuasively to different audiences.
* Experience working and communicating with multiple stakeholders, C‑level executives and cross‑functional teams or equivalent.
* Experience in data analysis using tools such as Excel, Pivot Tables, SQL, Tableau, or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience using Salesforce or other CRM tool.
* Experience with SQL.
