We are seeking a Senior Interior Designer (5+ years experience) who is ready to take the next step in their career. You will not only lead design aesthetics but also act as a technical bridge between our Melbourne office and our manufacturing partners in Asia. Key Responsibilities
* Project Leadership: Manage interior design for high-end renovations, commercial projects, and modular housing from concept to completion.
* Modular Integration: Collaborate on the R&D of modular systems, ensuring interior finishes are optimized for factory production and rapid site assembly.
* Supply Chain Coordination: Direct liaison with factories in China ; responsible for material sourcing, custom furniture/fixture fabrication, and quality control.
* Technical Innovation: Implement new construction methodologies and advanced craftsmanship to improve precision and reduce project timelines.
* BIM Management: Deliver high-quality BIM documentation (Revit/Archicad) compliant with Australian Standards (NCC/BCA).
Skills & Qualifications
* Minimum 5+ years' professional experience in interior design or a related field.
* Language Skills: Professional fluency in English and Mandarin is essential. Ability to understand or speak Cantonese is highly regarded for effective communication with regional manufacturing hubs in China, Taiwan.
* Mandarin Proficiency: Business-level Mandarin proficiency required for effective collaboration with manufacturing partners and supply chain coordination in China.
* Modular & Industry Knowledge: Proven experience or strong cognitive understanding of Modular Construction and China's interior industry supply chains.
* Modular Construction Experience: Hands-on project experience in modular construction methodologies and implementation required.
* Technical Proficiency: Deep knowledge of construction detailing, innovative materials, and modern interior finishing techniques.
* Software: Mastery of BIM software and proficiency in AI-assisted design tools.
* BIM Software Requirements: Proficiency in either Revit or ArchiCAD required for BIM documentation and project delivery.
