Belmont Christian College invites applications from suitably qualified Secondary Learning Support Teacher in Student Learning Support team for a full-time position. The Secondary Learning Support Teacher collaborates with the Learning Support team, secondary teachers, students and parents to create an inclusive environment that enhances individualised student learning, engagement and wellbeing as per the students needs.

Role responsibilities
This is an exciting and challenging position for someone who is passionate about Christian education, adopts a relational approach to their work, and demonstrates experience and a willingness to partner with the Learning Support team and the College Staff.
Key Accountabilities
Christian Leadership
- All activities are undertaken with a strong Christian commitment and focus.
- Christian servant leadership is exercised with staff, students, parents, and the wider community.
- Perform day-to-day duties prayerfully and consistent with a Biblical lifestyle with the aim of bringing glory to God.
Student Learning Support
- Act as the Secondary teacher liaison, under the guidance of Head of Student Learning and Support.
- Assist in finalising aides’ timetables and guiding student support.
- Support in teacher training, including induction and observations within learning support.
- Implement case management, tracking progress with parents, Learning Support, and medical staff.
- Use data-driven strategies to provide targeted student interventions.
- Offer small-group or one-on-one teacher support for learning programs.
- Develop intervention strategies for students with diverse needs.
- Conduct observations and assessments to guide interventions.
- Supervise and monitor student learning support efforts and progress in discussion with Secondary teachers.
- Plan and strategize Learning Support initiatives for Secondary students.
- Be prepared to act as a Deputy (on a need basis) to the Head of Student Learning and Support to represent, manage the Learning Support team in their absence due to training or non-availability.
Classroom and Curriculum guidance
- Guide teachers in planning and implementing learning interventions and activities.
- Provide support in developing curriculum for the learning needs.
- Manage and organise individualised resources and materials.
- Support students in developing literacy and numeracy skills through targeted interventions.
Student Wellbeing and Engagement
- Ensure that emotional and social support is provided to students to promote positive learning experiences in a structured manner.
- Provide advice to Secondary school teachers in managing student behavior of students with disability.
Collaboration and Communication
- Work collaboratively with the Secondary teachers, learning support team, school leadership and other teams to enhance student outcomes under the guidance of Head of Student Learning and Support.
- Maintain open and respectful communication with parents and caregivers regarding student progress.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and training as required.
Administrative and other duties
- Guide Secondary teachers and assist in record-keeping and documentation related to student learning progress and outcomes, and NCCD requirements.
- Facilitate the development of Individual Plans (IPs) alongside teachers, with the necessary documentation and notes, in consultation with parents.
- Contribute to moderation of NCCD activities on data collection.
- Ensure the interventions mentioned in the IPs are implemented and tracked to oversee student outcomes.
- Support teachers in Learning Support events and co-curricular activities as required.
- Ensure compliance with school policies and child safety regulations.
- Perform other duties as required to support student learning and school operations, under the guidance of Head of Student Learning and Support.
High potential or Gifted Students support
- Extend support for high potential gifted students, including identification of high potential students and guidance for interventions to meet their needs.
- Help in developing program delivery for high potential students under the guidance of Head of Student Learning and Support.
