Toowoomba Regional Council is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to play a pivotal role in supporting and advancing the technology behind our Water Infrastructure Services (WIS). About the Role You’ll work at the intersection of IT and Operational Technology (OT), collaborating with both the WIS team and ICT Technical Infrastructure specialists to design, maintain, and optimise systems that keep water and wastewater services running smoothly. From cybersecurity to system integration, you’ll drive continuous improvement and ensure infrastructure aligns with Council’s operational goals. You’ll bring: Tertiary qualifications in IT, Telecommunications, or equivalent experience Strong experience in ICT infrastructure within medium-sized organisations Expertise across technologies such as: Networks (LAN/WAN), VMware, Citrix Microsoft Server environments & Active Directory/Azure MSSQL, storage virtualisation Security platforms (e.g. Fortinet, F5) Knowledge (or interest) in Water & Wastewater systems Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks (Essential Eight highly desirable) Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills A proactive, solutions-focused mindset A current C Class Driver’s Licence is required.
