About the Role
As our Family Violence Practitioner, you'll work flexibly across a range of programs that support safety, accountability, and healing, including Men's Behaviour Change, Men's Case Management, Caring Dads, Women and Children's Support, HEART, Family Safety & Mother Contact, and ARISE.
You'll also have opportunities to co-facilitate group programs such as MBCP, Caring Dads, and Shark Cage.
This part time, fixed term role requires strong assessment skills, clear decision-making (including in crisis situations), and the ability to maintain professional boundaries.
You'll work both independently and as part of a supportive team, keep accurate documentation, and contribute to ongoing service development and improvement.
Building and maintaining effective relationships with community partners and stakeholders is key to ensuring positive outcomes for the individuals and families we support.

Key Duties
Provide group facilitation to Men's Behaviour Change, Caring Dads, and Shark Cage etc. as required.
Undertake counselling and group work utilising the primary theories and frameworks that are recognised as appropriate and effective in working with women and children.
Undertake Family Safety and Mother Contact work around risk and safety issues for women and children where required.
Do Your Skills Include
Demonstrated understanding of the gendered nature of family violence.
Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the theoretical frameworks underpinning family violence including gender, feminist analysis, human rights and social justice.
Demonstrated ability to provide clinical assessment, intervention and treatment to women and children who have or are experiencing family violence and to male perpetrators of family violence.
Are Your Credentials
A minimum qualification of a sector recognised and accredited Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent in line with the mandatory minimum qualifications (Rec 209) (see Mandatory minimum qualifications | Safe and Equal).
Graduate Certificate in Family Violence or equivalent credentials according to the NTV standards is preferred, or a willingness to complete is preferred.
