About the Team & the Position As a business unit of the Digital division, the Cloud, Platforms, Infrastructure & Networks (CPIN) department manages IT operations including the IT Networks across AEMO. The Network Services team within CPIN provide operational support and services to ensure the stable and effective operations of the core technology networks. The Network Services team has a strong focus on the continuous improvement of its operations along with project delivery processes to support efficient and effective delivery of all critical services to the AEMO organization. The Network Engineer designs and delivers network solutions and provides operational support for AEMO's highly available multi-cloud infrastructure. The infrastructure consists of a national data network connecting AEMO owned Private Cloud, Public Cloud and Cloud Software Services. The role ensures network designs align with policies and standards set by AEMO's cyber-security framework to secure the infrastructure. This infrastructure supports AEMO's real-time data, voice, video and the Energy Markets systems essential to run the Australian Energy Markets Position Responsibilities Produce the detailed network designs based on high level architecture designs and roadmaps. Lead the Implementation of network designs and transition to operational standards. Provide recommendations to integrate new technologies and equipment without impacting highly available systems, aligned to AEMO's IT strategy, architecture roadmaps and security frameworks. Maintain and extend in-depth technical knowledge across a broad range of technologies, including cloud services, security, network, storage, servers, voice systems, wireless, collaboration and end-user computing devices. Assist AEMO project teams to deliver the infrastructure for technology projects on time and within budget. Assist the operational teams and provide troubleshooting and analyse technical problems on all types of networked services, equipment, and devices in the hybrid-cloud environment. Follow ITIL service management best practices to operate AEMO's cloud, data and voice networks whilst maintaining high availability and security boundaries. Produce the as built documents aligned with the detailed network designs. Update Network processes, procedures and standards ensuring compliance with market audits. Collaborate with market participants and internal technology groups and stakeholders to develop and implement services and resolve issues with IT systems. Maintain the network monitoring and alerting systems. Rotate through a 24*7 on-call roster for afterhours incident management. Position Requirements Skills & Experience: Strong experience in data centre technology environment. In depth experience of Cisco, WAN, LAN, Security, and Internet technologies. Experience working as a member of a team of technical professionals working in high availability system environments. Strong experience in a multi-cloud environment. Knowledge of and adherence to ITIL service management and quality assurance systems Excellent written and verbal communication skills Preferred Skills: Hands-on deployment and operational experience with Next-generation firewall/IPS, VPNs, Email gateways, Wireless networks, Azure, and AWS environments Enterprise Voice and Webex videoconferencing systems, Windows and ESX environments and NSX networking, Cyber security approaches and technologies. Managing technical projects. Programming and scripting skills SDDC, SDWAN, Automation and use of VMware blueprints Flexible work from home arrangements Infrequent interstate travel may be required.
