An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and reliable
Welder/Fabricator
to join a leading company specialising in the design, manufacture, and modification of heavy vehicle tray bodies and truck-mounted equipment.
The successful candidate will work on a variety of projects across multiple industries, including construction, mining, transport, agriculture, and defence.
You'll be part of a hands-on workshop team producing high-quality chassis, sub-frames, and tray assemblies using a range of fabrication and welding techniques.
Key Responsibilities
Read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and blueprints.
Perform MIG, TIG, and Stick welding, along with cutting, grinding, and polishing tasks.
Fabricate, assemble, and modify heavy-vehicle chassis, sub-frames, and tray bodies.
Operate power tools and machinery for cutting, bending, pressing, and shaping metal.
Ensure all work meets quality, specification, and safety standards.
Accurately complete job and time records.
Support apprentices and junior team members where required.
Maintain equipment and uphold a strong safety culture by following WHS procedures and reporting hazards.
Skills and Experience
Trade qualification in welding/fabrication or significant relevant experience.
Background in trailer manufacturing or heavy-vehicle assembly.
Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
Skilled in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding processes.
Reliable, proactive, and safety-focused with a positive attitude.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Forklift or EWP licence desirable.
The role is temporary to start in the new year; however, for the right candidate, there is a strong possibility that it could become a longer-term opportunity.
