About Us – eHealth NSW
At eHealth NSW, we're leading the digital transformation of Australia's largest health system. As NSW Health's digital centre of excellence, we design, build and support world-class ICT solutions that improve patient care across the state.
eHealth is implementing a NSW Health wide Cyber Security Uplift program. This multi-year strategic initiative is designed to enhance cyber resilience across the state's health system. We are working with Local Health Districts, Pillars, and Agencies to improve how we detect and respond to risks and to make sure everyone follows consistent security standards. By investing in modern technologies, governance frameworks, and workforce capability, NSW Health is proactively addressing the evolving cyber threat landscape to safeguard critical health services and patient data.
About the Opportunity
As Cyber Security Junior Incident Officer at eHealth NSW, you will help make a real difference in healthcare through supporting the detection, investigation and response to cyber security incidents and digital forensics activities, helping ensure the safe and secure delivery of ICT services and projects across NSW Health.
This role offers the opportunity to build hands-on experience in cyber incident response within a large, complex and high-impact environment.
In this role, you will:
* Stay ahead of emerging cyber threats, trends and technologies to protect critical systems.
* Detect, respond to and resolve cyber incidents quickly, collaborating in incident "war rooms" and delivering clear analytics and reporting.
* Balance cyber risk management with efficient, high-quality service delivery.
* Research, configure and maintain security tools for cyber event logging, monitoring and investigation.
* Partner with eHealth customers and vendors to manage expectations and deliver to agreed timeframes.
* Apply and continuously improve operational practices, policies and procedures to strengthen cyber resilience.
About You
* Demonstrated experience in cyber incident detection and response, ideally within a large, complex service environment.
* Working knowledge of cyber security frameworks and tools, with hands-on experience using security technologies such as SIEM, SOAR, EDR, forensic and vulnerability management tools.
* Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex information, exercise sound judgement, and produce clear, practical reports.
* Proven ability to prioritise and deliver work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, meeting timeframes and managing competing demands.
* Well-developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and influence positive outcomes.
* Relevant tertiary qualifications in Cyber Security, Information Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience in a large ICT environment.
