Lot 101 seeks full -time livestock manager, ideally with a background in agronomy. Our farm is set across 600hr of bushland in the Megalong Valley, on which we run cattle and sheep, as well as maintain some chickens, alpacas and other animals.
We seek an experienced and knowledgeable livestock manager who can rotationally graze our livestock and run/maintain paddock management and health, as well as breed and maintain our animals.
**Job Description**:
- Breeding and raising stock (namely cattle and sheep)
- Maintaining and managing stock and other farm animal health and condition
- Developing farming plan according to pasture and soil conditions, and grazing livestock accordingly
- Planning, design and execution of temporary paddocks
- Organizing and conducting farm operations such as caching and drenching, and sterilizing equipment
- Maintenance of fences, equipment and water supply machinery and tools
- Recommending and implementing changes to farming techniques to improve pastures
- Analyzing paddocks to identify weeds, pests or other pathogens to maintain and improve livestock heath
- Improving yield through implementing new technologies such as satellite imagery and farming apps
Skills Requirements:
- Knowledge of cattle and sheep farming
- Knowledge of soils, pests
- Experience with farming apps
- Degree in relevant field preferred
Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
