Currently, we are recruiting experienced Order Entry Pharmacy Technicians to join the Polaris team.
Overview
The Order Entry Technician is responsible for entering prescriptions and refills into the pharmacy system with speed and accuracy. Technicians must be responsive and courteous when addressing customer needs. Successful Technicians are dedicated to meeting the expectations of internal and external customers, understanding customer information, and using it to improve our products and services.
This is a hybrid position
Schedule: Varies between day and night shifts
Responsibilities
* Enter new and refill prescriptions into the pharmacy system
* Resolve and answer customer questions and requests
* Contribute to the evaluation and continuous improvement of client services, policies, and procedures
* Comply with safety, attendance, and dress code policies
* Follow all applicable government regulations, including HIPAA
* Ensure safety policies and procedures are followed
* Perform other duties as assigned; duties may vary based on business needs
Qualifications
* High School diploma or equivalent required
* Pharmacy technician licenses/certifications as per state regulations
* Minimum of one (1) year experience as a pharmacy technician (long-term care preferred)
* Knowledge of brand name and generic medications
* Experience with alpha-numeric data entry
* Ability to read and correct prescriptions accurately
* Basic math skills
* Knowledge of SIG codes
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
* Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking)
* Ability to work at a moderate pace
* Good organization and attention to detail
Physical Demands
* May sit or stand for 7-10 hours per day
* Occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, bending, walking
* Extended hours as needed
* May lift/move up to 30 pounds
Holiday & PTO Policy
* Paid holidays: 6 days annually, plus 5 sick days
* Up to 10 PTO days per year, with rollover and milestone bonuses
* Option to cash out up to 10 PTO hours quarterly
Note: As a pharmacy, many locations operate 24/7; schedules may change based on business needs.
