About the role
We are looking for a permanent part time assistant accountant with a great work ethic and attitude to support the team.
Flexible working hours ranging between 20 to 30 hours weekly.
One-on-one mentoring is available with the opportunity for professional growth.
Daily Accounts payable processing along with fortnightly Vendor batch payments
Fortnightly credit card review and processing
Daily Bank reconciliations
Weekly preparation of Accounts Receivable billing & Debt collection
Preparation of end of month profit and loss review and balance sheet reconciliations
BAS preparation
Maintain and update asset register
Payroll Administrator duties include:
Processing weekly payroll
Processing and payment of all statutory returns
Entering new employees & assist with onboarding
Weekly fleet maintenance schedule
Management of Department of Transport online system – ensuring registrations are paid on time, updating any NVH category changes
Annual Main Roads Heavy Vehicle accreditation audit and compliance
All administration tasks for Heavy Haulage including maintenance of records throughout the year, compliance with fatigue management, dimensions, loading and maintenance (monthly internal audit)
Refrigerant Trading Authorisation (RTA) compliance, annual external audit (quarterly internal audit)
Processing workshop related purchase orders
Shared Reception duties (answering calls, collecting mail, ordering stationery & office supplies)
Updating of policies & procedures & audit preparation
Your Profile
We are seeking a strong mix of attitude and technical skills, the successful applicant will demonstrate the following:
Degree qualified or accounting diploma preferred but not essential (dependent upon accounts experience)
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role
Strong interpersonal skills and effective time management.
Knowledge and experience within the transport and/or construction industry highly regarded
