About the Opportunity
Hatchit Studios is seeking an experienced
Technical Project Manager (EL1 equivalent)
to support a major federal government ICT program. This role is suited to a hands-on delivery leader with strong technical acumen, capable of managing complex ICT initiatives while working closely with senior stakeholders, delivery partners, and multidisciplinary technical teams.
You will play a key role in delivering high-impact digital initiatives, ensuring outcomes align with government standards, enterprise architecture, and security requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the
end-to-end delivery of complex ICT projects and programs
within a federal government environment
* Build and maintain strong relationships with
internal stakeholders, delivery partners, and cross-agency collaborators
* Plan, monitor, and report on project progress, managing
risks, issues, dependencies, and constraints
* Provide governance, assurance, and status reporting to senior leadership and project boards
* Coordinate
multidisciplinary technical teams
, ensuring alignment to enterprise architecture and roadmaps
* Provide technical oversight across
solution architecture, integrations, APIs, data flows, and non-functional requirements
* Oversee vendors and delivery partners to ensure high-quality outcomes
* Support delivery using
Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid methodologies
, including backlog, iteration, and release management
* Ensure compliance with
Australian Government standards
, including Digital Service Standard (DSS), security, privacy, accessibility, and service readiness
* Support transition-to-support activities and benefits realisation
Skills & Experience Required
* 10+ years' experience
delivering complex ICT projects and programs, ideally within federal government
* Recognised project management certifications (e.g.
PRINCE2, PMP, Agile, Scrum
)
* Strong experience applying
Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid delivery models
* Demonstrated technical capability across:
Solution architecture
Integrations and APIs
Cloud platforms
DevOps / CI-CD
Cybersecurity controls
Data governance and management
* Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts to
senior and non-technical stakeholders
* Strong vendor management and stakeholder engagement skills
