The Opportunity
This is a 12-month non-ongoing salaried contract opportunity to join the Finance and Strategy Group, helping the team move forward after embedding a new corporate services model and a new Financial Information Management System (FIMS). The long-term strategy is to continually move towards an enabling environment where manual processes are streamlined, and data is used to drive smart business decisions.
As the Financial Planning & Analysis Team Leader, you'll have influence across the organisation, collaborating with a wide cohort of stakeholders to provide valuable financial insights to the Executive and Board. Your role will be pivotal in driving process enhancements, working alongside a team of strong problem solvers who are outcomes driven and pride themselves in delivering high quality work. You will manage two FP&A staff members.
The Role
Key responsibilities for this FP&A and management accounting role include but are not limited to:
* Lead consolidated budgeting and forecasting processes, supporting the Board and Executive Team with timely, data-driven financial insights
* Develop and maintain Icon Water's top-down, bottom-up and long-term plans across the full financial portfolio — including income statement, balance sheet, cash flow and capital
* Prepare and present consolidated business performance reports with commentary and recommendations for Executive and Board decision-making
* Oversee financial performance reporting to the ACT Government and other external agencies
* Work closely with the economic regulations team to input into the pricing strategy and tariff review
* Partner with Executives and key stakeholders to deliver value-added financial and commercial advice on enterprise-wide initiatives
The Ideal Person
Given the senior nature of this influential role, you will require first class communication skills and a naturally curious nature in order to ask the right questions and understand the many layers of the business. Once you grasp this, you can then really add value through your analysis, written & verbal influence, and financial management skills. Questioning assumptions, dissecting financials and talking to key stakeholders are key parts of this role. You are likely a highly experienced FP&A manager or senior level management accountant who is known to be a high performer coming from a commercial or consulting background and have built complex budgets from the bottom up.
* In addition to the interpersonal and communication skills, we also require;
* Relevant finance qualifications (CA/CPA)
* A FP&A / management accounting background
* Demonstrated ability to analyse complex scenarios and provide astute / concise financial and corporate commentary
* Strong experience in business report writing
* Highly developed finance systems skills including Excel
Salary / Rate
That salary band starts at $174,421 + 15% Super.
