Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade - 2, Chest Clinic - Temporary Part Time - Sydney/ Sydney Eye Hospital
Are you a motivated Registered Nurse interested in making an impact? Sydney/Sydney Eye Hospital seeks a dynamic Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 - Chest Clinic to join our nursing team and promote high-quality, safe care.
The Role

The main role of the Clinical Nurse Specialist - Grade 2 – Chest Clinic is to provide clinical nursing leadership at the Chest Clinic, Sydney Hospital, and Sydney Eye Hospital, focusing on respiratory conditions and screening. This position collaborates with the CNC Chest Clinic, NUM Outpatient Department, and Medical and Allied Health staff, reporting directly to the NUM Outpatient Department.
* Demonstrate expertise in respiratory conditions and screening.
* Manage outpatient clinic operations, including referrals, triaging, and patient flow.
* Communicate with patients and staff about flow, wait times, and escalate issues as needed.
* Implement and evaluate patient care strategies.
* Provide staff education and identify educational gaps.
* Serve as a role model and resource for nursing staff.
* Update staff on patient status changes regarding respiratory care.

Selection Criteria
* Current registration with AHPRA and a NSW Driver's License (if required).
* Postgraduate qualifications in Tuberculosis or Respiratory specialties, with at least 3 years recent experience or equivalent.
* Ability to manage complex care and develop management plans.
* Ability to work autonomously within a multidisciplinary team and maintain professional boundaries.
* Skills in patient and staff education.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Knowledge of harm minimisation and safety leadership.
* Competence in health information technology.
