Why this role matters The Salvation Army (Salvos) is one of the largest providers of homelessness services across the country. Our philosophy is that every person should be afforded dignity and respect and that no one should be without a safe, affordable, and secure home. We provide services and support to adults, and families with accompanying children in the form of accommodation, case management, assertive outreach, financial assistance, community connection and referral services. Samaritan House Geelong (SHG) plays a vital role within this network, providing essential services and collaborative support to some of the community’s most vulnerable individuals. About the role As the Samaritan House Coordinator, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of a vital homelessness support facility providing leadership in service coordination, volunteer onboarding and rostering, tenancy related administration, and liaison with internal and external stakeholders. Reporting to the Support Services Team Leader, this is a Permanent Full Time onsite role based in Geelong, Victoria. How you will make an impact
* Ensure a safe, welcoming and well-maintained environment for guests, staff and volunteers. Liaise with board members and maintenance contractors to manage repairs and upkeep of the site.
* Maintain accurate tenancy and property data across relevant systems, including inspections, rent reviews and VCAT representation.
* Onboard and roster volunteers across Samaritan House Geelong and TSA Homelessness Barwon systems.
* Complete case notes, internal forms, SAMIS data entry and administrative tasks within required timeframes.
* Represent SHG professionally in service networks, phone enquiries, and organisational partnerships.
What you will bring
* A qualification in Social Work or other relevant tertiary studies or extensive experience in homelessness or community services.
* Experience and resilience in supporting clients with complex needs and challenging behaviours.
* Strong communication and relationship building skills, with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams and partner agencies.
* Demonstrated capacity to work respectfully with people of varied cultures, backgrounds, values and beliefs.
* Ability to prioritise, plan and adjust to changing service needs.
* Victoria Working with Children Check, and Drivers Licence.
