Broome Regional Aboriginal Medical Service (BRAMS) is a well‐established Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation that has been supporting the Broome community for over 40 years. Headquartered in Broome, Western Australia, BRAMS provides holistic, culturally safe primary healthcare, aged care, and community programs to Aboriginal people throughout the Kimberley region.

With a strong focus on person‐centred, trauma‐informed, and culturally responsive care, BRAMS delivers services designed around the needs of Aboriginal individuals and families. Their multidisciplinary teams work collaboratively to improve health outcomes and promote wellbeing across the lifespan.

NDIS Access & Community Coordinator – Full‐time

BRAMS is looking for a full‐time NDIS Access & Community Coordinator based in Broome, WA. Internally, this role is referred to as the Evidence and Access Coordinator.

Reporting to the Community Navigation and Support Programs Manager, this role supports people with disability to navigate the NDIS access process, gather required evidence, and connect with the right supports within their community.

This is a community‐facing role where success is built on trust, genuine relationships, and working alongside families to support individuals in making informed decisions that reflect their culture, values, and preferences.

Responsibilities

* Supporting community members to test eligibility for the NDIS and navigate the access process
* Assisting participants and families to gather and compile evidence for NDIS applications
* Guiding individuals through Access Request Forms and supporting documentation
* Coordinating planning meetings with NDIA, participants, and stakeholders
* Acting as a key point of contact between participants, families, and service providers
* Building strong relationships with local community organisations, schools, and service networks
* Providing warm referrals to alternative supports where NDIS eligibility is not met
* Maintaining accurate documentation, case notes, and reporting in line with organisational requirements

Qualifications

To qualify, you will need demonstrated experience working within an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service or a strong understanding of the sector, along with an understanding of the NDIS, including eligibility and access processes. A minimum of 2 years' experience in community services, disability support, or a similar role will also be essential.

Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:

* Experience supporting people through NDIS access or similar service systems
* Ability to gather, organise, and present evidence for applications or assessments
* Experience working with NDIA, Local Area Coordinators, or community‐based services
* Strong administrative and documentation skills
* Strong connection to community and understanding of local context (highly regarded)

As our ideal candidate, you will be someone who builds trust easily and works respectfully alongside community members. You will be approachable, culturally aware, and committed to supporting people in a strengths‐based, person‐centred way.

You will also require a current Australian driver's licence, along with a current or willingness to obtain a Working With Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check, and National Police Clearance.
