We are looking for a dynamic and motivated person to join our team as a Logistics Officer within the Joint Logistics Unit East detachment located at Nowra. You will contribute to the delivery of superior customer service to support Defence logistics.
The APS 5 Logistics Officer is responsible for a wide range of moderately complex logistic management functions, including governance and assurance, and provides oversight of all inventory management, demand management and inventory tasks focused on supporting the customer and maintaining the reputation of the Unit.
This role will also provide governance and assurance on tasks handed across to Industry Partners. Whilst primarily office‑based, some work will involve interaction within our warehouse and clothing store environment. Within the Logistics Management function, an APS 5 Logistics Officer, once trained, will be accountable under limited direction to perform and achieve moderately complex logistics inventory management work within an integrated workforce. They will be accountable for a good understanding of and compliance with relevant legislative frameworks, government decision‑making and Defence's mission and policy requirements.
An APS 5 Logistics Officer will be accountable for organising their workflow, making decisions within their defined parameters relating to area of responsibility and will seek guidance when required. They will provide administrative support that is informed and directed by their knowledge of the Logistics Management function, may undertake some research and analysis activities, share information, monitor work practices, set work priorities and develop local procedures.
The Logistics Officer may be required to communicate with, respond to and provide advice to a range of stakeholders on moderately complex operational and administrative issues to achieve work‑unit and Defence outcomes. They will contribute towards ongoing self‑improvement and professional development and will manage a small team of Commonwealth staff, setting and managing their workflow and undertaking performance reviews and other management activities.

Nowra is a detachment of Joint Logistics Unit (East) Headquarters located at Moorebank, focused on planning, assuring and governing the delivery of warehousing and distribution services, including aviation item management to Defence.

Security Clearance
Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at "Negative Vetting Level 1.
