About the role
Reporting directly to the Branch Manager, the Purchasing Manager oversees all aspects of branch purchasing. You'll manage inventory levels, negotiate supplier deals and work closely with sales, operations and administration teams to ensure efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Key responsibilities include:
* Maintaining inventory levels to meet customer demand
* Achieving KPIs for purchasing and warehouse efficiency
* Negotiating with suppliers to secure sustainable deals
* Managing stock to deliver high turns and low waste
* Liaising professionally across all branch departments
* Supporting administration and reporting requirements

* Proven experience in purchasing, procurement or a related foodservice role
* Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build lasting supplier relationships
* Commercial awareness and problem‐solving ability to balance cost, quality and availability
* Confidence with computer systems and the ability to quickly learn internal platforms
* Clear, professional communication across teams and with external partners
* A collaborative approach that values teamwork as much as individual accountability
* Experience managing or mentoring a small team will be viewed favourably.
