We are seeking a commercially driven, performance-orientedGeneral Managerto modernise, strengthen and scale the business - accelerating growth while enhancing operational discipline and customer experience.
Reporting to the Managing Director, this role carries full P&L accountability and clear mandate: drive growth, lift performance and build a high-performing leadership team.
The Mandate
This is not a caretaking role.
This is a leadership opportunity for someone who sees potential, identifies opportunity gaps and executes with discipline.
You will:
Unlock growth across trade, retail and specification channels
Elevate systems, reporting and operational efficiency
Build stronger commercial rhythms and performance accountability
Align and energise an experienced team around clear targets
Position the business for sustained, scalable growth.
Working closely with Group Directors across Marketing, Procurement and Administration, you will lead sales, warehousing, logistics, finance and outlet operations with clarity and commercial focus.
What Success Looks Like
Within 12-24 months, you will have:
Strengthened revenue and margin performance
Enhanced CRM and reporting discipline
Improved stock, logistics and service efficiency
Increased market penetration across key builder and developer accounts

Commercial Growth
Identify and execute new growth strategies across trade, retail and project channels
Drive disciplined pricing, margin protection and working capital performance
Operational Transformation
Modernise systems, reporting and process flows
Improve warehousing, stock control and delivery performance
Embed performance KPIs across all departments
Leadership & Culture
Develop and challenge Department Managers to lift capability
Create clear accountability frameworks and performance expectations
Lead change confidently within a long-established team environment
Strengthen relationships with key builders, developers and specifiers
Elevate brand positioning and service consistency
Identify new partnership and specification opportunities
About You
You are commercially sharp, operationally confident and energised by growth.
You bring:
Proven General Management or senior leadership experience with P&L responsibility
Experience within building products, construction supply, interiors or related sectors (preferred)
A track record of improving revenue, margin and operational performance
Strong financial literacy and data-driven decision-making capability
Confidence leading change within established teams
A visible, decisive leadership style that earns respect quickly
You balance strategic thinking with hands‐on execution. You are comfortable in the boardroom and on the warehouse floor.
