So, what does a typical day look like? As a Catering Attendant, you're an integral member of our team, working across a range of areas to prepare all elements required to deliver a memorable dining experience for passengers onboard our airline customer flights. You may perform a variety of roles across our various kitchen, assembly and stores areas. You will be working as part of our Stores Team, coordinating a safe, sanitised and hygienic environment for all receiving, storage and work in progress areas. Sanitation and hygiene are important to our business, and you will be responsible for maintaining a clean environment.
Responsibilities
* Some fresh food and ingredient handling in bulk (such as fruits, vegetables, proteins) moving them through sanitation stations, ensuring visual and handling checks match presentation specifications.
* Assisting Chefs to ensure items are carefully unpacked and handled with care to avoid bruising, splitting or spoiling of produce.
* Sanitation of work areas within Stores, including cleaning, wiping down and tidying equipment, benches, storage racks, fridges and freezers.
* Compliance with Food Safety and HACCP guidelines, adherence to strict hygiene standards and cleaning schedules, including accurate recording of cleaning times.
* As required, assist with other Catering tasks at the direction of the Shift Supervisor.
What you need to be successful
* Attention to detail and accurate record keeping.
* Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to take directions in English.
* Ability to stand for prolonged periods and to move and lift items safely.
* Ability to work shift work across a 7-day roster (3 day or 4 day rotation).
* Punctual with neat and tidy presentation.
* Knowledge of Food Hygiene and HACCP (desirable but not essential).
* Clear National Police Check (paid by dnata).
* Availability to work minimum 24 hours/week; casual (set) position.
