TGT is a locally owned multi store rural retail business in the Mareeba Shire/Atherton Tablelands area in Far North Queensland. We specialise in the supply of general hardware, building materials, agricultural chemicals, rural products and fertiliser. TGT is part of the NQCOOP Group which was established in Mareeba in 1947 – we are coming up for our 80th anniversary
This management role is based at our Head/Support Office in Mareeba and will see you providing strategic generalist HR support for our five retail branches in addition to Top Stock Agencies, our animal feed manufacturing plant with a combined total of approximately 90 employees.
You will provide strategic HR support across the spectrum including employee and industrial relations, talent and pipeline management, performance management, development of pro-active HR strategies / policies and you will work closely with the General Manager on strategic priorities. Previous experience in retail and/or manufacturing related business would be regarded but it not essential.
Key functions will include recruitment strategy, policy review and development, management and overseeing our fortnightly payroll in conjunction with our external provider, change management and staff engagement/retention strategies.
You should possess a tertiary qualification in Human Resources and be comfortable working and engaging with employees at all levels.
The successful candidate will be instrumental in streamlining, improving and developing both existing HR policies and procedures where required as well as introducing new and effective HR initiatives to provide the best support for our team members.
