Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage a Finance Modellers on a contract for 12 months with potential extension.
**Position Overview**
The APS6 Finance Officer is accountable under limited direction to undertake complex work that is guided by legislation, policies, procedures, standards, methodologies and precedents.
The position is a team membership position that may be required to perform work that involves team leadership and management responsibilities requiring the setting of priorities and managing workflows of a team.
The APS6 Finance Officer will provide detailed technical, professional, policy, operational support and advice in relation to complex problems.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Analysing and interpreting statistical reports to assist with the development of work plans and strategic planning.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure effective and timely implementation of projects.
- Coordinating and providing cost estimates for all internal and external requests for changes to systems.
- Developing correspondence for stakeholders, such as financial reports, corporate documentation and responses to ministerial submissions.
- Exercising appropriate delegations in accordance with legislation and guidelines.
- Managing quality assurance activities and outcomes including the use of integrity/error reporting and the coordination of quality audits.
- Preparing a range of written material including business cases, reports and corporate documentation.
- Undertaking quality assurance of feasibility and cost estimates, assumptions and justifications.
- Undertaking detailed financial analysis of branch/division's variance to budget and forecast.
- Undertaking financial administration and across the division's cost centres and projects, including budgets, monitoring, forecasting and accruals.
- Contribute to the Implementation of CFO Group Modelling framework ensuring consistency and reliability of the models.
- Develop and maintain models within the CFO Group.
- Assurance on the model drivers, assumptions and resultant outputs.
- Working with key stakeholders across the Agency assessing model drivers based on Agency strategies.
- Provide training to end users as required.
- Development of presentations to Senior Leadership inclusive of key conclusions, risks and scenarios.
**Mandatory requirements**
- Relevant academic qualifications with membership of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA), Certified Practising Accountants (CPA) or other equivalent professional finance bodies (or holding equivalent finance-related post graduate qualifications)
- Extensive direct finance modelling experience performing and delivering complex financial and governance outcomes
