As a Senior Sales Engineer – Cyber Security Products, you will serve as a trusted technical advisor supporting Thales' Data Security and Application Security portfolio across Melbourne and ANZ. Working closely with Sales and Account teams, you will drive technical solutioning across the full opportunity lifecycle – shaping secure architectures, supporting customer engagements and enabling successful deal closure. You will play a key role in positioning Thales' security solutions to protect sensitive data, secure cloud environments and accelerate digital transformation. Responsibilities
Provide pre‑sales technical leadership across assigned accounts and territory Discover and qualify customer business and technical requirements Design and present tailored security architectures aligned to customer needs Develop technical proposals, architecture documentation and RFP responses Lead product demonstrations, workshops and Proof of Concept (POC) activities Deliver product installations and configurations to support testing and evaluation Support partner integrations and certification testing Act as a trusted advisor on security best practice, compliance and risk mitigation Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Business Development and Product teams to strengthen go‑to‑market strategy Qualifications
A degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Systems Analysis or a related discipline (business qualifications advantageous) 10+ years of experience in IT, ideally within IT Security, in a pre‑sales or customer‑facing technical consultancy capacity Demonstrated experience in solution architecture and technical solutioning for enterprise or large‑scale customers Strong knowledge of database technologies, database activity monitoring, database firewalls and data protection solutions Deep understanding of encryption technologies including database encryption, file/OS and VM encryption, tokenisation/anonymisation, data loss prevention and PKI Experience in application security and familiarity with public cloud services Strong commercial mindset with the ability to align technical capability to business outcomes Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with confidence engaging senior stakeholders and executives Desirable but Not Mandatory
