MAINTENANCE ATTENDANT - CASUAL
We are currently seeking experienced and self-motivated Maintenance Attendant to join the busy team at the Ibis Styles Port Macquarie. The hotel is a stylish and comfortable choice when choosing accommodation in Port Macquarie. Recently acquired by the Australian Rugby League Commission and franchised with Accor, this is a great opportunity for an up and coming hospitality professional to lead the team. We are looking for dynamic and career driven individuals to join our professional housekeeping team.
Reporting directly to the Hotel Manager, our Housekeeper's role is a key part of the daily hotel operations by providing a consistent and high-quality standard of guest services and ensuring efficient cleaning services to confirm the hotel is presented to the highest standard for all guests.
In this role you will be responsible for:
* Guest rooms and public areas are presented to the hotel's high standards.
* Develop and manage detailed preventative maintenance programs, through close consultation with Managers.
* Plan and oversee all repair, maintenance, and installation activities.
* Maintain effective working relationships with maintenance contractors and suppliers.
* Manage projects on time, to budget and of correct standard.
* Assist in preparation of forecast and actual budgets.
* Maintain acute awareness of legislation with regard to the hotels' operating environment (e.g. fire, mechanical, structural, hydraulic, electrical), and ensure all records and activities are in accordance. Optimise safety of guests and employees to this regard.
* Carry out inspections of facilities, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems of the buildings to identify functionality and resolve issues.
* Manage day to day maintenance to budget, and with strong direction to the maintenance team and external contractors.
* Monitor equipment inventory and place orders when necessary.
* Make recommendations to Managers with regard to necessary capital works and other required maintenance investments. Follow approved requisition procedures.
* Manage hotels Buildings Management System, with optimum power usage a key consideration.
* Provide avenues for hotel team to gain maintenance advice and support outside office hours.
The successful candidate for this position will possess:
* Previous experience in a similar role in a Resort/Hotel environment is an advantage
* Strong budgetary controls, timely and accurate reporting to Management on request.
* A strong level of organisation and communication skills, with good attention to detail
* Ability to work unsupervised
* Excellent in a team environment with a high level of self-motivation
* Flexibility to work on a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays
* Maintain equipment to agreed safe work practices.
