Job Purpose

The Inventory Controller ensures the accurate management of stock levels to support operational efficiency and cost control. This role is responsible for maintaining optimal inventory availability, preventing excess or obsolete stock, and implementing effective processes for monitoring, auditing, and improving inventory performance.

Key Responsibilities

- Regularly monitor inventory levels to ensure they meet demand.
- Utilize inventory management software to track stock movements and update records.
- Identify SLOBs (Slow Moving and Obsolete Stock) and take appropriate actions.
- Determine optimal reorder points and quantities to maintain stock levels using staging lanes.
- Manage relationships with 3PLs to ensure timely deliveries.
- Conduct regular physical cycle counts to reconcile with system records.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between physical counts and system records with Finance.
- Implement measures to improve inventory accuracy and minimize shrinkage.
- Ensure batch details and expiry dates are correct in the Mix Room.
- Implement measures to improve the flow of materials.
- Generate and analyze inventory reports to provide insights into stock levels, trends, and potential issues.
- Communicate expired and blocked stock issues to stakeholders.
- Continuously assess and improve inventory management processes.
- Set up RF scanning in all areas including pull/reservation lists.
- Train staff in inventory-related SAP T‑codes.
- Work closely with other departments such as logistics, planning, and production to ensure a seamless flow of goods.
- Communicate effectively with team members and other stakeholders to address inventory-related issues.

Experience & Qualifications

Required

- Proven experience in inventory management or a similar role.
- Familiarity with inventory management software and systems (e.g., SAP).
- Knowledge of inventory control processes, cycle counting, and auditing practices.
- Understanding of supply chain operations and collaboration with 3PLs.
- Ability to interpret and analyze inventory reports and data trends.

Additional Information

As publicly announced, Unilever will separate its Ice Cream business which is expected by the end of 2025. This role will transfer to the new Ice Cream company.
