As the Senior Finance Business Partner, you will be the key link between the Financial Services team and the other council business units, providing your expert advice in financial analysis, budgeting support and financial modelling, enabling leaders to make informed decisions, drive performance, and achieve their strategic goals.
The Senior Finance Business Partner also oversees asset accounting activities and informs financial performance reporting for executives and elected members. You will also be responsible for ensuring financial plans align with council's service delivery whilst improving processes and guiding financial management across the organisation.
To be successful you will need:
* Experience in financial systems and processes in a complex environment, including knowledge of budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning.
* Ability to develop and implement a formal finance business partnering framework to build financial acumen and system capability of budget managers across council.
* Ability to influence, negotiate and engage positively with a diverse range of stakeholders to achieve improved outcomes.
* Experience implementing improvements in process design, including successfully leading change management.
* Ability to provide expert recommendations and commercially sound advice to senior management and other stakeholders.
* Proven analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills in relation to complex situations.
* Demonstrated experience in asset accounting in an asset-intensive organisation.
* Demonstrated strong leadership capability with the ability to manage with empathy, professionalism and innovation.

* This position requires you to hold and provide evidence of a current and valid National Police Check (NPC) before being appointed to the position.
