A Queensland Government bulk water supply authority, GAWB owns and operates Awoonga Dam on the Boyne River, along with a network of delivery pipelines, water treatment plants and other bulk water distribution infrastructure.

GAWB are seeking a Recruitment Officer to join our Human Resources team on a 12-month max term contract.
This role is pivotal in delivering efficient, effective, and compliant recruitment services across the organisation, while also supporting broader HR functions.
About the Role
Coordinate end-to-end recruitment processes including advertising, shortlisting, interviews, reference checks, contracts, and onboarding.
Partner with hiring managers to develop accurate position descriptions and recruitment strategies.
Prepare and post job advertisements across platforms such as Seek, LinkedIn, and other external platforms.
Support recruitment campaigns for apprentices, trainees and labour hire.
Ensure a positive candidate experience through timely communication and feedback.
Maintain compliance with organisational policies, awards, and equal employment opportunity legislation.
Assist with onboarding activities including induction documentation and system setup.
Provide administrative support to the HR team, including maintaining position descriptions, recruitment documentation, and workforce reporting.
Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver recruitment advice, templates, and procedural guidance.
About You
We're looking for someone who brings both expertise and enthusiasm to the role.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
Tertiary qualification in HR, Organisational Development, Industrial Relations, or related discipline; or equivalent operational experience.
Demonstrated experience in recruitment best practices, sourcing techniques, and selection methodologies.
Strong knowledge of recruitment policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive issues with confidentiality and diplomacy.
Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong administrative and organisational skills with attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience in the government sector.
Knowledge of the Water Act **** and relevant legislation.
Familiarity with Learning Management Systems and TechOne.
