The role
ALS Geochemistry in Orange is seeking an experienced Laboratory Technician to join our dynamic team, dedicated to exceeding client expectations by consistently delivering high-quality results on time.
This is a full time role where you will be responsible for Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS) and ICP-AES operations.
Working the day shift (Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM), your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
* Microwave digestion of Fire Assay dore bead samples for analysis
* Assisting with AAS operations and routine preventative maintenance
* Preparing and verifying calibration standard solutions
* Handling sample disposal and cleaning labware
* Conducting stocktakes and inventory checks
* Participating in Laboratory Quality Management Systems and safe work practices

You will receive on-the-job training in the technical components and procedures of the role.
This is a residential role. To be considered, you must reside in or plan to relocate to Orange, NSW, and have current Australian work rights.
The essentials
* A genuine interest in the Science Industry, preferably with a BSc (Chemistry, Environmental Science or similar) or TAFE qualifications in Laboratory Techniques
* Previous commercial laboratory experience
* AAS and/or ICP-AES experience highly desirable
* Excellent attention to detail, organizational and time management skills
* Desire to learn new skills
* Good communication and time management skills
* A strong desire to exceed client expectations by delivering quality results on time
* The ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision whilst being committed to the work of a team
