Budget Manager / Strategic / Cost Modelling leads a team responsible for developing and maintaining complex funding models. This role is central to the Department's financial strategy, translating high level policy into actionable plans and ensuring the budget is managed with accuracy and transparency.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading a team to create accurate funding models for services.
- Translating complex financial data and national funding rules into clear, strategic advice for Senior leaders including Minister's offices.
- Managing crucial deliverable throughout the annual budget cycle and contributions to the State Budget Paper.
- Using advanced analytical and scenario based modelling to test the impact of policies and support the Department's long term financial sustainability.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with key Government stakeholders.
- Operating in a high pressure workplace, providing timely and high quality advice while fostering a high performance team culture.
About you:
- Highly skilled in building and managing complex financial and cost models.
- Strategic Communication; transform complicated data into clear, simple narratives for Senior leaders and Ministers.
- Leadership experience, guiding teams and handling high pressure situations.
- Proficient and highly skilled in Excel and other financial analysis tools.
