The Monash Health Graduate Program takes pride in providing our Graduates with excellent opportunities to consolidate their skills, expand their experience as a beginning practitioner and grow their career.
General Nursing, Midwifery and Double Degree Streams offer Graduates a twelve-month structured program 12-month structured program with the option to work either:
Part time hours
1. EFT; 64 hours per fortnight
2. Five (5) weeks annual leave pro rata over twelve (12) months or
Full time hours
3. EFT; 76 hrs per fortnight and the opportunity to accrue a paid day off every four weeks (accruing at 4 hrs per fortnight)
4. Six (6) weeks annual leave pro rata over 12 months

Commencement
General Nursing Winter stream commences in clinical areas on Monday 7th August 2023 with a paid Graduate pre-commencement orientation program conducted in July 2023.
13. The opportunity to rotate across the Monash Health network which includes Monash Medical Centre, Monash Children’s Hospital, Jessie McPherson Private Hospital, Dandenong Hospital, Kingston Centre, Moorabbin Hospital, Casey Hospital, The Victorian Heart Hospital, Cranbourne Integrated Care Centre and Residential Aged Care facilities.
14. Opportunity to rotate into a specialty preference area, with a wide range of different areas available to Graduates
15. Graduate specific learning pathways to support your professional development within the clinical specialty area
Double Degree / Midwifery Stream commences in clinical areas on Monday 7th August 2023 with a paid Graduate pre-commencement orientation program conducted in July 2023.
16. Allocation to a Maternity Team at either Clayton, Dandenong, Casey or Sandringham for the duration of the Graduate Program to ensure continuity of support and learning
17. For Double Degree Graduates, the opportunity to rotate to an acute adult clinical area at a range of sites including Monash Medical Centre, Casey Hospital, Dandenong Hospital, Moorabbin Hospital, The Victorian Heart Hospital and Jessie McPherson Private Hospital;
18. Midwifery and Double Degree Streams offer Graduates the following twelve-month structured program options:
Graduate Midwives complete four (4) three-month rotations within their program:
19. Two (2) birth suite rotations
20. Two (2) post/antenatal rotations
Double Degree Graduates complete four (4) three-month rotations within their program:
21. Two (2) birth suite rotations
22. One (1) post/antenatal rotation
23. One (1) nursing rotation within a wide range of acute clinical areas

The Monash Health Graduate Program application process has been streamlined to support candidates to submit strong applications that give them the best chance of success. Candidates must complete the following steps:
Prepare your application as per the ‘2023 Monash Health Graduate Program Application Guidelines’ (see the ‘Position Documents’ section below). Applications must include:
24. A completed Monash Health 2023 Graduate Program Digital Application (Midyear) saved in PDF Format
25. Recent Academic Transcript, including the grading key page
26. Working with Children’s check card (Can be Volunteer or Employee for the purposes of application)
27. Medicare Immunisation History Statement showing three doses of COVID-19 vaccine. Offers of employment will only be made to candidates who can provide evidence that they meet full vaccination status.

Offer of Employment
28. Offers of employment are subject to satisfactory completion of the following probity checks:
29. Submission of a valid ‘Employee’ Victorian Working with Children Check (WWCC)
30. Completion of a clear Fit2Work police check conducted within three months of the contract commencement date
31. Submission of proof of immunisation
32. Confirmed registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) as a Registered Nurse prior to the program clinical commencement date
33. Evidence of a valid Visa allowing full working rights with no restrictions (if not an Australian citizen or permanent resident) by the program clinical commencement date
