Warwick State High School is looking for a dynamic team player passionate about encouraging participation of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students and their families to maximize student outcomes.
This position is permanent part-time (0.2 FTE), 14.5 hours per fortnight.

Why this Role?
The Community Education Counsellor (Identified) is part of the school's Wellbeing Team, which includes Behaviour Management Teachers, Youth Support Coordinators, Chaplain, and supporting Teacher Aides. Collectively, this team supports and nurtures all students' wellbeing and engagement.
Duties
- Provide educational counselling and support services to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students.
- Participate in developing activities to enhance participation in education among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and their families.
- Develop and undertake support service programs designed to meet the needs of the school, encouraging educational participation of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children and students.
- Participate in activities to develop productive partnerships within the school community.
- Ensure that relevant information concerning Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander social and cultural issues is readily available to all members of the school community.
About You
- Robust and empathetic communicator with excellent relational skills.
- Solution‑focused, able to develop strategies to best support Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students.
Mandatory Requirements
- Position is genuinely required to be filled by an Aboriginal person or a Torres Strait Islander person as per Section 7 of the Anti‑Discrimination Act 1991.
- Required to hold a current Working with Children Check (Blue Card) issued by Blue Card Services.
- A Criminal History Check will be conducted on the successful applicant.
