We are seeking a reliable, enthusiastic Vintage Assistant to join our small, hardworking team during the 2026 vintage period. This is a hands-on, varied role that would suit a backpacker or someone looking to complete their 88 days of regional work, with accommodation potentially available upon request. Reposting this as the other applicant who accepted the role is no longer available hence the late notice.
Duration
* Mid March to Mid April (approximately 3–4 weeks, weather dependent)
Working Hours
* Approx. 6–10 hours per day, 5–6 days per week
* Hours may vary and can include early starts, late finishes, and weekends depending on harvest conditions
Key Responsibilities
Vintage Support
* Grape sampling and delivering samples
* Winery intake support, including data entry into winery intake software
* Washing harvesters, machinery, tanks, barrels, and winery equipment
* Possibly assisting with wine transfers, pump operation, and general cellar work - But work in the cellar will be limited.
* Walking behind or riding on grape harvesters (clearing vine canes and obstructions). You will also be trained in helping set up the harvester prior to starting a pick.
* Refueling machinery and vehicles
* Driving tractors (highly beneficial but not essential)
General Duties
* Cooking reasonably healthy, wholesome meals for staff. Includes meal planning, shopping and preparation.
* House cleaning, washing, and general upkeep
* General run-around jobs and miscellaneous tasks as needed during vintage
Skills & Requirements
* Australian or international driver’s license – required
* Tractor and machinery experience highly regarded
* Confident cook with food prep skills
* Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in variable conditions
* Flexible, reliable, and willing to learn
* Positive attitude and ability to work as part of a small team
Accommodation
* Accommodation may be available upon request, subject to discussion. Some food will be included for the successful applicant.

About Us
Vintage is the culmination of a year’s work in the vineyard and winery, compressed into an intense but rewarding few weeks. You’ll be working closely with a small, experienced team in the Barossa Valley and gaining exposure to many aspects of vineyard, winery, and cellar door operations.
