Residential Aged Care Visitor - New Town - coffee with an animal lover
Provide social support and companionship to a female in her 80s who lives in a residential aged care facility in New Town. You will help ease feelings of social isolation and brighten her day
The Role
The Aged Care Volunteer Visiting Scheme (ACVVS), funded by the Australian Government, connects volunteers with an older person who is feeling lonely and/or socially isolated to build friendships and reduce loneliness. In your volunteer role you will be paired with an aging senior to provide them regular social support visits in their home. Activities during your visit are based on yours and your client's interests and could include conversation, playing board games, listening to music or sharing stories. Get to know someone new and make a difference in your local community
Our Client
Our client resides in New Town and is looking to expand her social network. She spends her time colouring in, doing general art and crafts, watching TV and taking small walks around the facility. She loves animals and her favourites are cats and dogs. She is looking for someone to go for a small afternoon stroll or have a cup of coffee while chatting. Your visits will help maintain her community links and reach her goals. Enjoy fun and laughter along the way
