About this Position
We have an exciting opportunity for a Bridge Carpenter to join our team within the Roads and Infrastructure directorate. The primary objective of this role is to construct, repair and maintain bridges and other general civil structures - timber, steel and concrete. This position plays a key role in supporting the Team Leader in ensuring the efficient and effective use of resources under their control.
We are looking for a motivated person with a great attitude, who is invested in being part of the Lismore City Council team. In return we will provide you with a challenge and the ability to contribute to the success of our community. You'll be working in a 76 hour per fortnight in a permanent role, that will be based at our Wyrallah Road depot in East Lismore.

What you'll need to be successful
* You hold one of the following trades - Bridge and Wharf Carpenter; Civil Engineering Construction Carpenter, or equivalent
* Current Class LR Drivers Licence
* General Construction Induction Training Card (white card)
* Have personal integrity and take responsibility
* Reliable, fit and energetic
* Able to work in a team environment
What we trust you to deliver
* Carry out all carpentry trade activities, including the maintenance of bridges and structures and carry out duties that are within the scope of the trade.
* Display excellent communication skills and enjoy working towards delivering results in a team environment.
* The ability to identify and report safety and environmental hazards in the workplace and rectify those without direction and report accordingly.
* Ability to work outside normal working hours and attend callouts as required.
