We are seeking a Civil Estimator to join a leading contractor delivering major electricity and utility projects across New South Wales. Working closely with major utilities and network operators, they specialise in the construction, maintenance and upgrade of electrical infrastructure, supporting the delivery of critical power network projects across metropolitan and regional areas.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare detailed civil estimates, take offs and tender submissions for infrastructure projects.
* Review drawings, specifications, scopes of work and contract documentation to ensure accurate pricing.
* Develop bills of quantities, cost plans and estimate breakdowns.
* Engage with subcontractors, suppliers and vendors to obtain and evaluate pricing submissions.
* Collaborate with project managers, engineers and construction teams to develop practical delivery methodologies and construction programs.
* Support procurement activities and pricing reviews where required.
* Assess project risks, assumptions and opportunities to improve tender competitiveness.
* Maintain estimating databases, historical cost records and pricing schedules.
* Contribute to tender review meetings and bid strategy discussions.
* Assist in the preparation of tender clarifications, exclusions and commercial submissions.
Key Requirements
* Demonstrated experience delivering utility infrastructure projects within NSW
* Previous experience as a Civil Estimator within utility, civil or electrical infrastructure environments.
* Demonstrated experience pricing civil works including, conduit installation, trenching and evacuation and earthworks.
* Strong understanding of electrical distribution networks and utility project environments
* Strong commercial acumen with experience in project controls, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
* Experience preparing competitive tenders for utility infrastructure projects.
* Understanding of QA/QC processes, compliance requirements, and utility standards
