Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (Qualified)

* Full Time and Part time hours considered

* Hobart or Launceston based (hybrid options considered)

Are you a qualified Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner? Are you passionate about helping people navigate conflict and find a way forward? Do you believe in fairness, compassion, and making a meaningful difference?

We're a Tasmanian not-for-profit providing mental health, wellbeing and dispute resolution services across our community. From families and individuals to workplaces, we’ve got their backs and we are looking for our next Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner to join the team!

You do not need to be legally qualified, but must hold a Graduate Diploma of Family Dispute Resolution with registration with the Attorney General’s Department.

We are looking for someone 4-5 days/week in our Hobart or Launceston office – with possible travel to Launceston/Hobart and the East Coast — let’s chat about what that looks like for you.

The Role:

You will provide support and mediation to:

* Families experiencing conflict, especially around parenting or property settlement

* Workplaces navigating disputes or team tensions

From intake and screening to mediation, resolution and referral, you will help people work through tough situations with compassion, structure, and skill.

Our team of legally qualified FDRP's use industry leading software to streamline the management of family dispute mediations, lightening your admin load!

About You:

You are someone who:

* Communicates clearly and with care

* Stays calm and professional under pressure

* Is committed to integrity, equity, and supporting others through change

* Understands Family Law, separation, parenting arrangements, and family dynamics

* Can manage sensitive and complex conversations with empathy

You will also be comfortable with:

* Writing clear agreements and reports

* Risk assessment and mandatory reporting

* Working independently and as part of a collaborative, supportive team

* Working within timeframes

* Technology including client management systems and Microsoft

Qualifications & Training:

We welcome applications from practitioners who hold a Graduate Diploma of Family Dispute Resolution with registration with the Attorney General’s Department.

Bonus points if you have experience or training in:

* Workplace or community mediation

* Child Inclusive Practice

* Property and financial settlements

* NMAS Accreditation

* Law or legal practice

Remuneration will be under the Health Professionals and Support Services Award with salary commensurate to experience and hours worked.
